The Silverstone circuit can rightly be considered (along with Monaco, Monza, Spa and Hockenheim) as one of F1's home circuits. Formula 1 races have been held at the circuit since 1948 . The circuit has undergone many changes since the first races where held and in 2011 the most radical modification was unveiled, a total moderation of the track, facilities and pit complex. Many people thought that such a radical change would spoil what has always been one of the fastest circuits in the world, but the 2011 Grand Prix was a resounding success.
Red Eye are pleased to be able to offer some of the finest British Grand Prix hospitality. Join us in the Silverstone Six complex where you can enjoy thrilling views of 6 corners - Maggots, Becketts, Farm Curve, Village, The Loop and Aintree.
The First British GP has been regularly held at Silverstone since the F1 world championship began in 1948 (Silverstone was the Inaugural race) and alternated with Brands Hatch and Aintree before becoming the permanent home of British Formula 1 in 1986.
Silverstone was for many years one of the fastest circuits in Formula 1 but after the deaths of Senna and Ratzenberger in 1994 at Imola, Silverstone was significantly modified to make it less dangerous.
A long running dispute between the British Racing Drivers Club and Bernie Ecclestone about the suitability of Silverstone as a modern Grand Prix circuit culminated in 2009 when the the 2010 Grand Prix was awarded to Donnington Park. This did not come to fruition as funding was not secured to make the necessary improvements and Silverstone was restored.
In 2011 a much improved Silverstone hosted the British Grand prix, the newly designed circuit is now a world class facility with excellent spectator and hospitality facilities.
Silverstone is contracted to host the British GP at least the net 15 years.
