The legendary venue that is Monza has a decorated history. As the world's third purpose built motor racing circuit it has hosted a total of 66 F1 races, more than any other circuit. Its main corners: The Curva Grande, Curva di Lesmo, Variante Ascari and Curva Parabolica all contribute to make Monza an electrifying racing experience. Drivers are at full throttle for over 75% of the lap due to the long straights and long, sweeping corners, reaching speeds of up to 224 mph! With that in mind, this year's race could very well be as close as the 1971 epic, when Peter Gethin stole the win by 0.01 seconds from Ronnie Peterson. Alternatively, it could be as chaotic as the 1979 Grand Prix, where Enzo Ferrari’s golden goose Niki Lauda clinched the victory, despite the race being overshadowed by the tragedy of Peterson’s accident.

Looking forward to 2018, Hamilton heads to Monza 4 times the victor, while his rival, Vettel, has only stood on the top step 3 times. Despite this, Ferrari remain the most successful team in front of their home crowd with 19 wins, whilst McLaren sit on 10 and Williams with 6. It is also a favourite of the German driver, who clinched his maiden win back in 2008 at the hands of the Toro Rosso Ferrari in appalling conditions. The rain proved to be a performance leveller as from pole position and a safety car start; he pulled away and had a fantastic race. His team watched on in awe to see him emerge victorious.

Ferrari has played host to some of the greatest drivers to ever grace the sport. Michael Schumacher claimed an impressive 5 victories around the Autodromo, making him arguably the Tifosis most treasured driver. The German sealed the victory for his final time at Monza in 2006. He took to the top step of the podium and was instantly met by an ecstatic roar emerging from the Tifosi sea of red. It has been a long time since the Tifosi have had something to roar about however, with Ferrari’s last win at Monza 8 years ago at the hands of Fernando Alonso.
