Monaco Grand Prix Yacht Hospitality: The Complete Guide for 2027
18 Aug
Few sporting experiences are quite as synonymous with their location as yacht hospitality at the Monaco Grand Prix. For one weekend each year, Port Hercule becomes one of the most exclusive locations in world sport, with superyachts lining the harbour as Formula 1 cars race through the streets of Monte Carlo just metres away.
For anyone considering attending the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix, yacht hospitality offers a very different experience from a traditional grandstand seat or hospitality suite. But what should you expect, where are the yachts positioned and is it the right option for your Monaco weekend?
Having delivered hospitality at the Monaco Grand Prix for more than 20 years, Red Eye Events answers some of the questions we're most frequently asked.
What is Monaco Grand Prix yacht hospitality?
Yacht hospitality combines race viewing with an all-day premium hospitality experience aboard a luxury yacht positioned within Monaco's famous harbour. Rather than simply arriving for the race, guests typically spend the day aboard the yacht enjoying food, drinks and entertainment alongside the Formula 1 action.
Depending on the yacht and package, hospitality typically includes gourmet dining, Champagne and premium drinks, live entertainment, Formula 1 personality appearances and tender transfers into the harbour. The result is an experience that feels distinctly Monaco.
What can you see from a yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix?
This depends significantly on the yacht's berth. Unlike a purpose-built racing circuit, Monaco winds through the streets of Monte Carlo and around Port Hercule. Yachts positioned within the harbour therefore offer views of particular sections of the circuit rather than the entire lap.
It’s important to understand that no hospitality provider can guarantee a trackside yacht berth at the Monaco Grand Prix. Demand significantly exceeds the number of available positions each year, and final berth allocations remain entirely at the discretion of the relevant authorities. However, Red Eye Events has been operating yacht hospitality at the Monaco Grand Prix for more than 20 years, giving us extensive experience of the process and the practicalities of delivering events within Monaco Harbour.
30-metre or 50-metre yacht?
Red Eye Events offers hospitality aboard both a 30-metre and 50-metre Harbour Club yacht for the 2027 Monaco Grand Prix.
The larger 50-metre superyacht provides a more expansive hospitality environment, with multiple areas in which to dine, relax and watch the racing. It is particularly well suited to larger groups, corporate entertaining and guests looking for the complete Monaco superyacht experience.
The 30-metre yacht provides a more intimate atmosphere while retaining the essential elements of Monaco yacht hospitality, including premium food and drink, excellent race viewing and a prime location within the harbour.
There isn't necessarily a 'better' choice. The right yacht depends on the atmosphere, group size and budget you're looking for.
What does Monaco yacht hospitality include?
Packages vary between providers, so it is important to check exactly what is included before booking.
At Red Eye Events, we believe the hospitality experience should be every bit as memorable as the racing itself. Through our Harbour Club hospitality, we place just as much emphasis on the quality of the food, drink and service as we do on the incredible views of the Monaco Grand Prix.
That commitment is reflected throughout the experience, with catering from Mosimann’s, one of London’s most exclusive private dining clubs, alongside premium Champagne and wines from leading names including Pommery and Whispering Angel. It’s this attention to detail that helps set the Harbour Club experience apart.
How do you get onto the yacht?
This is another important consideration when comparing Monaco yacht packages. With large numbers of visitors arriving in Monaco over Grand Prix weekend, access and logistics matter.
For Red Eye's Harbour Club yacht hospitality, guests are transferred by luxury tender from Fontvieille Harbour directly to the yacht. It is a memorable way to arrive, but more importantly it simplifies access to the hospitality location during an exceptionally busy weekend.
The transfer into Port Hercule is an important part of the yacht hospitality experience. Red Eye Events uses dedicated luxury tenders, ensuring guests travel in comfort and arrive relaxed and ready to enjoy the day. With transfers typically taking around 15 minutes across open water, the quality and space of the tender can make a noticeable difference compared with smaller or more crowded vessels.
Which day is best for yacht hospitality?
Sunday naturally commands the greatest demand because it includes the Monaco Grand Prix itself. However, Saturday can offer exceptional value for guests who want the yacht experience while watching qualifying, an especially important session at Monaco, where grid position can have a major influence on Sunday's race.
Friday provides another opportunity to experience Monaco from the harbour and can work particularly well as part of a wider weekend itinerary combining different hospitality locations. Many Red Eye clients choose to experience Monaco from more than one perspective, perhaps spending one day aboard a yacht and another on an elevated terrace overlooking a different section of the circuit.
Is yacht hospitality suitable for corporate groups?
Very much so. Monaco has long been one of the world's leading destinations for corporate Formula 1 hospitality. A yacht provides a relaxed environment in which guests can move around, dine, enjoy drinks and socialise rather than remaining in a fixed seat throughout the day. For businesses entertaining important clients, partners or employees, it can therefore work particularly well. Red Eye can also discuss larger group requirements and tailored Monaco itineraries.
Where should you stay?
Accommodation is one of the most important elements to consider when planning Monaco Grand Prix weekend. Staying within Monaco provides maximum convenience and allows guests to immerse themselves completely in the atmosphere of the event. Availability, however, is limited and prices reflect the exceptional demand.
Nice provides a popular alternative, with a much wider range of hotels and straightforward access to Monaco. Red Eye Events holds accommodation allocations in both Monaco and Nice and can combine hotels with hospitality to create a complete Grand Prix weekend.
Yacht or terrace hospitality?
This ultimately comes down to the experience you want. A yacht provides the quintessential Monaco atmosphere: superyachts, Champagne, close-up Formula 1 action and the extraordinary backdrop of Port Hercule. An elevated terrace can provide a wider view of the circuit and allow guests to follow more of the lap from a single location. For that reason, combining the two can be an excellent option. Spending Saturday on a terrace and Sunday aboard a yacht, for example, gives guests two very different perspectives of the world's most famous street race.
Is Monaco Grand Prix yacht hospitality worth it?
For someone simply looking for the cheapest way to watch Formula 1, yacht hospitality clearly isn't the answer. But Monaco isn't a conventional Grand Prix. Much of the attraction lies in experiencing the destination itself alongside the racing. A yacht brings those two elements together in a way that very few sporting events can replicate. For Formula 1 fans, corporate groups or anyone celebrating a special occasion, it can create a genuinely memorable Grand Prix weekend.
