Celebrating 20 Years: The Most Unforgettable Moments in Red Eye Events’ Monaco Grand Prix History
For the past two decades, Red Eye Events has been at the heart of the Monaco Grand Prix, creating unforgettable hospitality experiences. From hosting events on yachts and terraces to working with F1 sponsors and legends, we've seen it all.
Here are 10 of the most memorable moments from our 20 years at The Monaco Grand Prix.
- Our First Monaco Grand Prix – 2005
It all started in 2005, when Red Eye ran an event at our very first Monaco Grand Prix. Back then, we hosted just a small yacht for sponsors and selected guests, a far cry from the large scale experiences we now provide. But it was the beginning of an incredible journey, and from that moment on, we knew Monaco would be at the heart of what we do.
- Kimi Räikkönen’s Legendary Yacht Exit – 2006
Monaco is known for its glamour, but Kimi Räikkönen took it to another level in 2006. After his mid-race mechanical, instead of returning to the paddock, he famously walked straight to his yacht, grabbed a beer, and relaxed in the sun. It was pure Monaco, and it made headlines around the world.
- Hosting Hospitality Through the Financial Crash – 2009
The 2009 Monaco Grand Prix was a difficult one for many hospitality providers. The global economic crash meant that big corporates weren’t spending on lavish race weekends. But Red Eye Events stayed the course, continuing to host exclusive guests in Monaco, proving that our events were about more than just big budgets—they were about delivering unforgettable experiences.
- The Hybrid Era Begins – 2014
The 2014 Monaco Grand Prix saw one of the biggest technological shifts in F1 history—the introduction of hybrid engines. While the new quieter engines weren’t a hit with the V8 purists, they did bring an unexpected benefit: for the first time, guests (and staff) on our yachts could for the first time actually hold a conversation while the race was on!
- The Birth of Harbour Club – 2016
By 2016, Red Eye Events had grown significantly, and we wanted to take things to the next level. That year saw the launch of Harbour Club, our premium hospitality brand, which allowed us to host guests at multiple locations across the Principality—from private yachts to trackside terraces, and exclusive after-parties.
- Daniel Ricciardo’s Redemption – 2018
Monaco has seen many dramatic races, but Daniel Ricciardo’s 2018 victory was special. After losing out on the win in 2016 due to a pit-stop disaster, Ricciardo finally conquered the streets of Monte Carlo. The celebrations didn’t stop at the podium—Monday’s after-party at Anjuna Bay beach club was legendary, with other drivers, celebrities, and VIPs partying alongside the Australian.
- Red Eye Teams Up with Tom Kerridge – 2019
In 2019, Red Eye Events made a huge statement by collaborating with Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge. Bringing in a world-class chef and his team showed just how far we had come in the world of luxury hospitality, ensuring our guests enjoyed five-star cuisine alongside world-class racing. We continue to prioritise the quality of our catering and in 2025 will be working with Mosimann's of Belgravia - one of the finest private dining clubs in the world.
- The Cancelled Grand Prix – 2020
The Covid-19 pandemic shut down much of the world, and for the first time since 1954, the Monaco Grand Prix was cancelled. It was surreal—no superyachts, no after-parties, no deafening roar of engines through the streets. But it made the return even more special, as the excitement and energy came back in full force in the following years.
- Hosting the FFS Live Podcast with David Coulthard & Eddie Jordan – 2024
In 2024, Red Eye Events hosted one of our most exciting events yet—the Formula For Success live podcast with David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan. The F1 legends shared behind-the-scenes stories, race insights, and hilarious tales from their time in the sport, making it one of the most memorable Monaco moments for our guests.
- Charles Leclerc Finally Wins Monaco – 2024
Monaco-born Charles Leclerc had been chasing a home victory for years, and in 2024, he finally did it. After heartbreaking misfortunes in previous seasons, Leclerc took the chequered flag in front of his home crowd, sparking wild celebrations across the Principality. Being in Monaco for this historic moment was truly unforgettable.

From our first yacht in 2005 to hosting thousands of guests and witnessing historic victories, our Monaco journey has been nothing short of spectacular. Over the years, we’ve developed an extensive network within the sport and the Principality itself, connecting with teams, drivers, and key figures—including relationships that stretch as far as the Palace of Monaco.
